Colonel Hisham Khaleel Aljarrah
Commander of the Royal Jordanian Navy

Colonel Hisham Khaleel Aljarrah the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Navy is a native of the city of Irbid in the Northern part of Jordan. He was born on the 28th of February 1977. In 1995 he joined Mu'tah University/ Military Branch.

As the honor graduate of his class in 1996 he was selected to join the Hellenic Naval Academy in Greece. Upon graduation he joined the Royal Jordanian Navy as a first lieutenant. Colonel Aljarrah assumed many positions in the RJNF: Operations officer onboard a heavy patrol boat, Special Forces team Commander, Staff officer at the Personnel Department, Staff officer at the operations and training Department, 77thMarine Battalion Commander, Head of the operation sand training Department and finally was appointed on 1st of July 2020 as the Commander of RJNF.

Colonel Aljarrah has attended many courses and assignments abroad: (EOD) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (USA) , Operations Officer for the United States and Jordanian Task Force (Afghanistan) , Naval Operations course (Greece), Command and Staff Course (PAKISTAN) where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Naval Studies , Planning Staff Officer (Combined Maritime Forces CMF) , Marine Corps War College (USA) where he obtained his second Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies.

His personal decorations include Peacekeeping Medal: Long Loyal Service Medal, Efficient Leadership Medal, Administrative and Technical Efficiency Medal, Independence Medal, King Abdullah II Excellency Medal, Silver Jubilee Medal, Legion of Merit Medal which was presented by US Government, Military Merit Medal which was presented by his Majesty King Abdullah II. Recently, Colonel Aljarrah has received the Al-Kawkab Medal of the Second Class from His Majesty King Abdullah II in June 2025, in recognition of his distinguished services and unwavering commitment in the performance of his duties on the occasion of the anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt and Army Day.

Colonel Aljarrah is happily married and has one daughter and three sons.
