CAPTAIN EFSTRATIOS VOUDOURAKIS HN
Director of Naval Training

Captain Efstratios Voudourakis, Hellenic Navy, was born in Athens in 1973.

He joined the Navy as an Ensign after graduating from the Naval Academy in 1996. His sea service includes assignments as director of navigation, armament, and operations on patrol boats, fast missile patrol boats and frigates. He served twice as Executive Officer and three times as Commanding Officer: patrol boat PP/E. PANAGOPOULOS II (2002-2003), fast missile patrol boat TPK KRISTALLIDIS (2013-2015), and frigate F/G PSARA (2019-2020).

His participation in international missions at sea includes a six-month tour as Deputy Weapons Officer with NATO's Standing Maritime Force 2 (SNMG-2) in the Mediterranean and Eastern Atlantic Ocean, and a five-month tour as Deputy Operations Officer for the European Union's Operation ATALANTA in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden.

His national staff assignments include Assistant Director of Operations of the Fast Attack Craft Command, Inspector (Sea Rider) for Operations and Armament at the Operational Evaluation Directorate of the Hellenic Fleet and Battle Watch Captain at the Hellenic Fleet Operations Center. From July 2024 to February 2025, he served as Director of Training and then Deputy Commander of the Hellenic Navy Tactical Training School (HNTTS) and, since February 2025, he is serving as Director of Naval Training at the Hellenic Naval Academy.

From 2020 to 2023, he served as a staff officer in the J7 (Education)/Policy and Strategic Development Section at NATO/SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) in Mons, Belgium.

Captain E. Voudourakis HN, has completed all the career schools of the Navy and the Armed Forces corresponding to his rank and carrier path such as: Hellenic Navy Specialization and Education School (Fast Attack Craft above water warfare specialization), Hellenic Naval Staff Officer School, the Hellenic Supreme Joint War College. He is currently studying at the National Defense College. He has also attended the International Warfare Officer Course in Portsmouth, United Kingdom.

His academic education includes a master's degree in International Relations and Security from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki (2018) and participation in the Stavros Niarchos Leadership Program in Advanced Diplomacy and Defense at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, Boston, USA (2016). He speaks English fluently.

He holds military decorations and medals from Greek and foreign authorities corresponding to his rank and career achievements.

He is the father and guardian of a child, loves sailing, and divides his time between Athens and Ancient Sicyon in Corinthia.
