WINTER TRAINING CRUISES
Each year, Winter Training Cruises (WTC) take place with the Fleet’s ships, such as Frigates (F), General Support Ships (GSS), Fast Attack Craft (FAC). Submarines (SS), Gunboats (GB) and Gunships (GS). Winter Training Cruises aim at providing nautical-operational knowledge and expertise as well as familiarizing cadets with seamanship. Training trips are also taken with the three Sailing Vessels (SV), a training vessel (KYKNOS I) and a number of Academy’s small sailboats in the Saronikos vicinity, whose purpose is to acclimatize Cadets to the sea element, as well as providing sailing instruction and entertainment.
SUMMER TRAINING CRUISE
The Academy’s Summer Training Cruise (STC) takes place every summer between mid-July-end of August and lasts 45-50 days. Half the time is spent underway and the other half at bay mostly at European ports, abroad.
TRAINING IN NAUTICAL SIMULATORS
There are two nautical simulators (simulating a fully equipped naval ship’s bridge), one in the Academy and one at Palaskas Training Centre (Skaramanga area) which are utilised for the training of Naval Cadets in all four years.
